Someone told me that September 22 is the official beginning of the autumnal equinox. We are officially in Fall,  although living in Hawai’i is kind of like summer every day.

Okay, I just think this photo is funny.  My beach lip balm is about the same size as my apple banana.  It’s my tribute pix to summer.

I pass this building whenever I need to ship something via Aloha Air Cargo.  I finally decided to stop by and take a closer look and snap a few photos.

I love the muted color palette and 3 dimensional pieces.  

The backside of the building is pretty cool too.  Love the wavy roofline.

I really wish that buildings would have art incorporated into the facade.  It makes me slow down and appreciate the detail and work but it also calms me as I race around the city.

Does anyone know who this artist is?  I’ve been doing some research to see if there are any more of his/her work around Honolulu.  Click Here for more images.

Fashion’s Night Out 2009 Honolulu

It was cool that Ala Moana Center was able to participate in the national event Fashion’s Night Out.  More than 50 stores participated and also partnered with Hawai’i Food Bank.

Neiman Marcus along with Hawaii Fashion Incubator (HiFi) highlighted design students from the University of Hawai’i and Hawai’i Community College.  This was my favorite dress.  Sorry, don’t know the student that created it.  Loved the construction of the LBD and the Hawaiian Kapa (Tapa) cumberbund was awesome!  This was a nice blend of modern and cultural tradition.
