hey, check out the online hawai’i style magazine www.leichic.com for a fun article i participated in this week (click on pic)…i gave a tutorial on how to make a design i call An Aloha Shift from an Aloha Shirt…you need a little sewing know-how, but not too much.

I love me some handbags! It’s another thing I hoard. I’ve been trying to purge…every time I buy a bag, I either sell or donate one. My saving grace is that I love thrifting for them. It also helps on the savings account. Found this cool number for $4.99. Love that it has a cool stripe down the middle.

Also has gussets and a shoulder strap…sweet! In this age of monster logos and rent size prices for a handbag, I love finding unique pieces. Check out my other cool finds, Here.

I have been a huge fan of Tord Boontje for years. I discovered his beautiful lamps while shopping at the SFMOMA and have been a fan ever since. When he partnered with Target a few years ago to do their holiday ad campaign, I was glued to the TV waiting to see the commercials. We didn’t have a Target at the time, so when we pilgrimaged to LA we had to stop by the stores to take a look at their in-store visuals. Amazing!
His work includes tabletop, furniture, textiles, brand identity and the list goes on. Now he has a jewelry line, Charming.

I can wear his designs. I’m so excited, but of course, they are sold out until the end of summer.

The iconic bird on branch and the bunny are my favorite pieces.

Yacht Rock Jumper $49.99
Love the jumper but love the name more…
I want.
Louis Vuitton Superflat Monogram-Takahashi Murakami
Cool video. Need to view it again with a couple of cocktails. Not a huge fan of the LV hype (although I do appreciate the craftsmanship) but am a bigger fan of Murakami.

This is cool wallpaper that is used in the cafeteria at the Chicago Museum of Modern Art.

Wish I would have snapped a photo of the entire cafeteria to show how dynamic it looked…next time.

This is a great way to update your old handbags with a new look. It’ also “upcycling” items that would normally get tossed. It will give you a one of a kind bag as well as a low-carbon footprint style.

So easy to do, all you need is your old bag and your favorite scarf(s).

Take a look Here on how to complete your look.
