Omg so many good ones.
With love, remembering Uncle K.
Discovered a few murals done by Mary Blair at the Contemporary Resort at Walt Disney World.
Will post more when I’m back from vacay.

Shot this a few years back of a zoetrope at Disneyland. Pretty amazing example of how animation works. What might not be obvious is the pulsing strobe light which helps the eye sync with the sculpture, creating an animated effect. Once the strobes turn off, the image returns to a blurred mess. Such a wonderful object.
There is a small thrift store in my neighborhood that has very odd hours. So I was excited to drive by the other day and see them open. I’m always on the hunt for interesting finds.
Inside they had a large selection of holiday cards for sale. Great! I can do my Christmas card shopping and use paper goods that would have ended up in the landfill.
I was able to find a bunch of cards with various themes that can be personalized towards friends and family. Then I came across some handcrafted cards that I will be keeping for myself.
Screen-printed on cloth, these notecards were produced by Södahl Designs in Denmark. It’s little treasures like these that make me happy.

My Birthday Sangria at 39 Hotel.
this pet gecko has adopted us; he helps eat up all of our tiny bugs every night for the last few months; sometimes he gets real smart and hunts within the hanging lantern, where all the tiny insects hang out, its like Thunderdome.
